FREMANTLE DESIGN WEEK 2026 / OCTOBER 16 – 25

Mark your diary! The Fremantle Design Week 2026 program is live – 11 days packed full of design goodness, with over 60 events in and around the port city.

Fremantle’s stellar architects, interior designers, artists, makers and creatives will be joined by some of Australia’s leading design voices, connecting you to the people, projects and movements shaping design locally and globally.

Our theme for 2026 is ‘imagine’. It’s an invitation to seek out joy and creativity in a time of unprecedented change. How is design challenging business-as-usual for a healthy future? We’ll shine a light on local innovation and share practical ideas relevant to everyday life.

What makes our homegrown design week unique? FDW is a ‘walkable’ festival, embedded in the port city’s heritage streetscapes, industrial spaces, thriving restaurants and bars, and new boutique hotels. There’s an energy that comes from moving between everything on offer and being part of it.

From fashion and furniture to farming and funerals, the program invites everyone to engage with design. Make a day of it – listen in to a conversation at the festival hub in the PS Art Space; learn a skill at a workshop; discover new design at an exhibition. Take a cycling tour and end the day with a movie. And bring the kids!

The inaugural Fremantle Design Week in 2022 was Perth’s and Western Australia’s first design week. The multi-disciplinary design festival has quickly established itself on Western Australia’s design and arts calendar – check the full program here and plan your design week.
