DESIGNFREO COMMUNITY FORUM: FREMANTLE BRIDGE CLOSURE _ OPPORTUNITY OR CARMEGEDDON?

In less than three months, the old Fremantle Traffic Bridge will close for at least a year. Every day, around 24,000 vehicles cross it – and once it’s shut, they’ll all need to find another way.

They can’t all fit on Stirling Bridge without serious gridlock.

The State Government has announced a few small steps to help reduce car use, but there’s still a lot more we can do – especially to help people get around without a car and to make sure our local residents and businesses stay connected and thriving.

This challenge could actually be a once-in-a-generation opportunity to make Fremantle more walkable, bike-able, and better connected by public transport – if we plan it right.

Come along to our free community forum to hear from local leaders and experts, and share your own ideas. Let’s turn this disruption into something positive for Fremantle’s future.

Presenters include:

Mayor Ben Lawver will join a panel conversation and audience Q&A.

Tickets are free but booking is essential to secure your spot. We look forward to an interesting exploration of this transformational time for our city.
