DESIGNFREO ON LOCATION 19: MDC ARCHITECTS / SCARBOROUGH HOUSE

The owners of this Scarborough home were clear from the outset: ‘build no larger than absolutely necessary.’

Join us as we visit another exceptional project by MDC Architects. Architect Matt Delroy-Carr translated the owners’ brief into a beautiful and thoughtful home for this family of four, where robust, sustainable materials are softened by garden and spaces are oriented to capture the warm northern light. 

The home achieves excellent thermal performance, using minimal energy for heating and cooling, and sits comfortably in the established neighbourhood. It balances two of DesignFreo’s great loves – environmental responsibility and a mid-century aesthetic – and we can’t wait to hear the architect and owners tell its story.
